• The Continuous and Discrete Fourier Transform
• Why Wavelets: Examples and Applications
• Wavelets and Multiresolution Analysis
• Wavelets on Discrete Domains
• Frames: Wavelet Frames and Gabor Frames
• Applications of Wavelets and Frames

Requirements and Grading:

Grade will be based on homework, projects and the final comprehensive written project. Students are expected to complete three to four projects designed for the understanding of the theory, applications of wavelets/frames and constructions of wavelets/frames. Students are encouraged to discuss with the instructor on the specific project they might want to take on the application part of the projects. Classroom participation is required (10% towards the final grading).
