pitfalls. Fantastic article by Jonathan A.
Dantzig at UIUC. His area is engineering, but the advice
is very applicable to math ed, particularly applying to
math departments.

by Ellen Spertus. Outstanding, engaging essay. I wish I
read it when I was on the market! She is doing a two-body
search in Computer Science. Your mileage may vary.

Tenure Chase Papers. Dana Mackenzie's fascinating
but depressing look into the world of fighting for
tenure.

from my (successful) 2000-2001 job search. I was
