(CM)²: Creating Momentum through Communicating Mathematics

Rika Yatchak

(CM)² Graduate Student (2011-2012)

I grew up in southern California, thinking I would be a writer or perhaps a linguist. However, my earlier interests have changed and while I still love the written word, I ended up studying math and electrical engineering at UC San Diego. I loved mathematics so much that I decided to continue on for an advanced degree at SFSU. At the moment I'm working with Federico Ardila on cubical complexes and their relation to reconfiguration systems. It's an interesting project with a lot of real-world applications, which I find very exciting. In my free time I enjoy riding my bike around the city and exploring.
